01 Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of webrenamer.com and its file-renaming tools, content, and related pages. By using the service, you agree to these Terms and the linked Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

If you use WebRenamer on behalf of a company, client, or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organization. “You” then refers to both you and the organization where the context requires it.

02 What WebRenamer provides

WebRenamer is a browser-based utility for preparing renamed copies of files. It can apply operations such as find and replace, prefixes, suffixes, numbering, case changes, pattern matching, cleanup, dates, and extension edits. The interface shows a proposed result before export.

The current service processes selected files locally in supported browser code and creates a ZIP for export. It does not intentionally upload selected file contents or filenames to a WebRenamer server. Browser capabilities differ, so the exact save flow may vary by browser and operating system.

WebRenamer changes filenames; it does not convert file formats. Renaming photo.jpg to photo.png does not re-encode the image. A file whose extension no longer matches its contents may fail to open or behave unexpectedly.

03 Permitted and prohibited use

You may use the current online tool for lawful personal or commercial file-renaming tasks. No account or paid subscription is required for the current features.

You may not use WebRenamer to:

• violate applicable law, intellectual-property rights, privacy rights, confidentiality duties, or contractual restrictions;
• process files you are not authorized to access or use;
• introduce malware, malicious code, or content intended to damage another device or service;
• probe, bypass, disable, or interfere with security, rate limits, access controls, or normal site operation;
• misrepresent WebRenamer as your product or imply sponsorship that does not exist;
• use automated traffic in a way that unreasonably burdens the service or prevents others from using it.

04 Your responsibilities

You control the files selected and the rules applied. Before export, review the original and proposed names, check for duplicate destination names, confirm the intended sort order for numbering, and preserve valid extensions. After export, open representative files from the beginning, middle, and end of the batch before treating the job as complete.

Keep independent backups when the files are valuable, unique, regulated, or difficult to replace. The service is designed to export renamed copies rather than silently overwrite original files, but that design does not replace a backup or your own review.

You are responsible for the security and suitability of the browser, device, operating system, and storage location you use. Avoid sensitive work on an untrusted or shared device. Remove saved presets and clear site data before transferring control of the device if those presets contain confidential naming conventions.

05 Files, content, and intellectual property

You retain whatever rights you hold in the files and filenames you process. These Terms do not transfer ownership of your files to WebRenamer. Because current rename processing stays on the device, WebRenamer does not need a license to store or publish the files you select.

The WebRenamer name, site design, written content, software interface, and original site materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except where law permits otherwise, you may not copy, sell, sublicense, or redistribute substantial parts of the service as a competing product without permission. Ordinary use of the tool, linking to public pages, and quoting short portions with attribution remain permitted.

06 Third-party links and products

Blog posts may link to operating-system documentation, software publishers, or other external resources. A link is provided for reference and does not make WebRenamer responsible for that site, its downloads, terms, privacy practices, security, or accuracy. Review third-party terms before installing software or providing information.

Product comparisons describe information available when the article was checked. Features, pricing, licensing, and platform support can change. The publisher’s current documentation controls over a summary on WebRenamer.

07 Availability and changes

The service may be updated, limited, suspended, or discontinued. We may change features to improve safety, performance, browser compatibility, or maintainability. We do not promise that every feature will remain available indefinitely or that the service will work with every browser, file size, filename, storage device, or operating system.

We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, infrastructure, or legal rights. If these Terms change materially, the effective date will be updated. Continuing to use the service after revised Terms take effect means the revised Terms apply from that point, subject to any notice or consent requirements imposed by applicable law.

08 Disclaimers and mandatory rights

WebRenamer is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not make promises that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, suitable for a particular workflow, or compatible with every file or device. Rename previews and validation reduce common mistakes but cannot identify every business rule, ambiguous filename, external dependency, or file-format problem.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty, remedy, or consumer protection that cannot lawfully be excluded. Standard terms should remain fair and understandable; official guidance in the European Union and from the UK Competition and Markets Authority explains that mandatory consumer protections can override unfair standard terms.

09 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WebRenamer is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or purely economic losses arising from use of or inability to use the service, including loss of files, business interruption, lost opportunity, or an incorrect naming result.

This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability that applicable law requires for fraud, deliberate misconduct, or certain personal injury. Your strongest practical protection is to keep original files, test complicated rules on a representative copy, and verify exported results before deleting or replacing anything.

10 Ending use

You may stop using WebRenamer at any time. Because the current tool does not require an account, there is no account subscription to cancel. You can remove locally saved presets by deleting them in the interface or clearing WebRenamer site data in your browser.

We may block or restrict use that violates these Terms, threatens the service, harms others, or creates legal or security risk. Provisions that by their nature should continue—such as ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and responsibility for prior conduct—remain applicable after use ends.
